The River Kitchen.

A Hamilton-based cafe getting the most out of banquette seating

At the heart of Hamilton CBD is the River Kitchen, a small cafe that prides itself on its warmth and friendly hospitality. It’s interior, designed by Designwell, is carefully crafted to enhance social interation and create a place of comfort through furniture.

Banquettes are utilised heavily in the fit-out, pushed against walls and arranged back-to-back to make the most of the narrow space provided. With smaller, private booths on one side and a long, open banquette on the other, divisions and zones for different diners are artfully created.

The Share Banquettes are upholstered in caramel-coloured vinyl with deep fluted detail, which brings softness and warmth to the interior. With exposed brick walls, the use of banquettes acts as an acoustic and visual softener.

"Harrows consistently go above and beyond to execute the client story we tell through spatial design. The Share Banquette seat was the ideal solution here to keep an open and inviting feel to the cafe."
