A fish market that has been the beating heart of New Zealand seafood for over 100 years
Harrows was delighted to assist Izzard Design in rebooting the aesthetic of the Auckland Fish Market in Wynyard Quarter, Managed and stocked by New Zealand’s oldest and largest fishing company Sanford, the historic site is a hub for all lovers of seafood.
With over ten eateries, a courtyard bar and passionate chefs serving international cuisine, the vast space was a finalist in 2019’s Best Awards. The interior has a raw, contemporary-industrial vibe, with bespoke zinc-topped bar leaners and imported steel stools. All surfaces are seamless in design and easy to clean, which is a vital element for a busy dining space.
The alfresco area is bright and fresh, with an abundance of greenery and pendulum lighting. Aluminim Stecca Stools, Chairs and Armchairs are powder coated in a crisp off-white. Sitting underneath deep blue umbrellas, the colour scheme gives a fitting nautical vibe.
