Crafted as a central hub, Te Kahu o Waipuna nurtures the community knowledge, wellbeing and resilience as the Marlborough community library.
Te Kahu o Waipuna’s design draws inspiration from the Wither Hills, with the exterior panels echoing the hills’ contours and interior colours mirroring the land and sky. This new space created to feature openness and light stands in stark contrast to the old library, fostering a sense of spaciousness and brightness.
Harrows contributed to the Warren and Mahoney design by providing furniture that caters to all age groups, offering comfort and convenience to the Marlborough community. The Brek chairs, designed with generous width and cushioning, provide exceptional comfort. Additionally, the design incorporated collaborative soft seating to facilitate a moment of respite or interaction, fostering a stronger sense of community engagement.
Working closely with the Warren and Mahoney, Harrows sourced stacking conference style chairs along with trolleys, ensuring flexibility in the space’s utilisation. This resulted in a multifunctional environment that adapts seamlessly to diverse needs and activities, enhancing the overall experience for users.
