The Botanic is a resort-style village in Auckland designed to support young-at-heart retirees to lead healthy, active lives full of purpose, wellness and connection. In crafting The Botanic Clubhouse’s interior, Space Studio‘s approach was to seamlessly blend biophilic design principles with functionality, fostering both mental and physical well-being, working with Harrows to select furniture choices to enhance this. Embracing nature’s essence, every piece of furniture was meticulously selected and designed to resonate with the surrounding environment.
By integrating nature inspired colours, textures and natural materials into our furniture design, we aimed to create aspirational and inspiring spaces. Warm timber was carefully chosen for its natural allure, infusing spaces with a comforting earthy feel. Green upholstery added a touch of vitality, mirroring the lushness of the outdoors, which further connects the furniture with the surrounding natural landscape.
Beyond aesthetics, each furniture piece was thoughtfully curated to enhance the overall experience. They not only provide comfort but also encourage social interactions and moments of relaxation, creating a feeling of homeliness, while still providing the durability required in this high-use environment.
