How furniture helps define space in an open-plan workplace.

The NZ head office for global equity firm PAG shows how furniture can define and support different zones across a workplace that blends open-plan areas with enclosed meeting rooms. Designed by Unispace, the layout uses furniture to organise function, scale and movement without relying heavily on partitions.
Across the open floor, furniture is arranged in clear clusters that create legible zones for different ways of working. High tables, banquettes, collaborative tables and quieter meeting settings establish structure while keeping teams visually and physically connected. Changes in furniture type, height and orientation provide separation without closing the space off.
Banquette seating helps define edges and create moments of containment, while open tables and leaners maintain clear sightlines across the floorplate. Enclosed meeting rooms offer privacy when needed, using simple, purposeful furniture that carries the same materials and forms as the open areas.
The result is a workplace where furniture does more than furnish. It defines space, supports movement and shapes how people work each day.
